How to Obtain Indian Visa and Visa Fee

AFTER REGISTERING, A PRINT OUT OF THE APPLICATION FORM IS REQUIRED TO BE TAKEN AND SUBMITTED AT THE VISA COUNTER OF THE INDIAN EMBASSY, JAKARTA  PERSONALLY DUE TO BIO-METRICS SYSTEM INSTALLATION, ALONG WITH THE REQUISITE VISA FEE IN RUPIAH, 2 PHOTOS AND OTHER SUPPORTING DOCUMENTS.

Counter Timings:
Applications are accepted at the counter between 09:00 AM and 12:00 PM (Monday to Friday) except holidays.

Processing Time:
Applications received are normally processed in two days and serviced passports can be collected from the counter between 4.00 p.m. and 4.30 p.m. the next day. This time schedule does not apply to services where prior approval is required from authorities in India, or other Indian embassies for non-Indonesian applicants.

It is the total responsibility of the Applicant to check the status of the Visa. Whenever required, collect the Passport within the time given. Once the visa is collected, the applicant should check the kind and period of visa and confirm to his satisfaction before leaving. Any discrepancy should be brought to the notice of Consular Section immediately for correction. It will not be entertained later on.
Visa should not be applied more than two weeks in advance unless there are other travel plans.The itinerary should be shown indicating the date of departure from Jakarta and valid reason to apply for visa in advance.

Emergency issue of Visa:
In case visa is applied for on weekends and holidays, an emergency charge of Rp. 413,000 is levied for issue of visa on the same day. Emergency Services are granted on Saturdays and National Holidays in case of a genuine emergency like death or illness of a blood relation, subject to production of proof and confirmed air ticket. The applicants may wish to inquire from the concerned officer about arrangements for such emergency service. The decision of the consular officer in this matter shall be final.

Following documents are required to be submitted for all categories of visa:
  1. Visa application form: Application form according to the type of visa sought may be downloaded from Types of Visas. These are also available in the Consular Wing of the Embassy. Kindly use a pen/ball pen only to fill up the form legibly and clearly, in bold (capital) letters. Please make sure that al the columns of the visa application form are filled in and signed. Incomplete and illegible applications may not be processed. The type of visa, No. of entries and period of visa required should be clearly indicated. The last column showing two reference addresses each in Indonesia and India should be completely filled.
  2. Passport: it should have a minimum validity of six months.
  3. Photographs: 2 latest color, matte (not glossy), passport size photographs depicting front pose against white background are required. One of them should be pasted in the specified place and the other may be stapled with the application form.
  4. Supporting documents: The visa application should be accompanied with supporting documents for type of visa applied for.

Note: All persons of Indian origin who have acquired Indonesian citizenship are advised to surrender their Indian passports to the nearest Indian mission for cancellation and return. The cancelled Indian passports will be needed at the time of applying for PIO cards.
